Overview

When you open smartCARS, there an error saying "Authorization Server Error", which is not the same as "Authentication Server Error" that shows when trying to log in.


Instructions

Step 1

Disable your antivirus and/or firewall. On some occasions, security solutions can restrict smartCARS' access to the internet. If this does not fix the error, continue to the next step.


Step 2

Repairing the .NET Framework 4.5 via the installer, located here. smartCARS required the .NET Framework to function properly and it can be partially corrupted or damaged. If this does not fix the error, continue to the next step.


Step 3

Go to the start menu, search for "cmd". Right click on "Command Prompt" and press "Run as Administrator". When command prompt opens, type the following command:

netsh int ip reset & netsh winsock reset

Press enter to run the command. Once complete, close the command prompt and restart your computer. This allows Windows to clean and rebuild its information related to the connected network. This can sometimes fix network related issues. If this does not fix the error, continue to the next step.


Step 4

Make sure that your Windows time and date settings are correct. This can cause issues with security certifications and connection related code. If this does not fix the error, continue to the next step.


Step 5

If you are running Windows 7, make sure you have Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed and that all available updates are currently installed.
